Capital Neurology provides treatment for disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and nerves.Neurology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study and treatment of disorders of the nervous system, a complex, sophisticated system that regulates and coordinates body activities. When something goes wrong with a part of your nervous system, you can have trouble moving, speaking, swallowing, breathing or learning. You can also have problems with your memory, senses or mood.There are hundreds of diseases and conditions that affect the nervous system and the muscles.  Some of the common disorders we treat include:

  • Cerebrovascular disease, including stroke, transient ischemic attacks, aneurysms and dementia
  • Demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, such as multiple sclerosis
  • Headache disorders
  • Infections of the brain and peripheral nervous system
  • Movement disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease
  • Neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease)
  • Seizure disorders, such as epilepsy
  • Spinal cord disorders
  • Speech and language disorders
